Junior Mints and Bachelors — May 15, 2018

Junior Mints and Bachelors

I took out my old tape of the Seinfeld finale and watched it.

The 20th anniversary was yesterday. I remember buying Junior Mints to watch the finale back then. I started eating that candy because of the show.

I’m almost done with Doki Doki Pretty Cure and I need a new anime to watch. If I only watch 2 episodes a week I won’t binge it. I’m not sure if I want to watch another Pretty Cure series. I’m still leaning towards magical girl. Love my magical girls.

I think I figured out what my major is going to be if I decide to get a bachelors. I think I’ll go into mass media. It was the type of classes I was taking before I changed schools. Or education because everybody loves a teacher.

A Hot Circle of Garbage — May 13, 2018

A Hot Circle of Garbage

I spent my last $10 on a Mother’s Day gift. The pizza I got her was terrible like a hot circle of garbage. Plus they added some dumb surcharge. Now I’m going to have to think of a different present for next year. 🤔😰 What about hamburgers?

10 movies from 1988 — May 11, 2018

10 movies from 1988

I was going to post more songs from 1988, but I thought I’d change it up with movies. I just wanna crank out these blogs. 😛 I pre-wrote a bunch of them anyway. All I need to do is post them and add pics.

1. Oliver and Company

A forgotten animated Disney movie of the 1980s. For Christmas 1988 I got a sweatshirt with Jenny and Oliver on it.

2. Who Framed Roger Rabbit

I saw this one at a drive-in. I remember as a kid being confused about why the cartoon characters from different companies were in scenes together. I think it was a double feature with Peter Pan. I used to get bootleg metallic Roger Rabbit stickers at vending machines at the Tianguis. I also had a knockoff Kewpie doll I named Baby Herman.

3. Willow

ppgsale 011

I think I didn’t see this one in the theaters. I think I saw it on tv or something. I remember the merchandising more than the actual movie.

4. Scooby Doo and the Ghoul School

Scoob_and_Shag_faint_in_Grimwood's - Copy

Part of the Hanna-Barbera Superstars 10 series. Honestly I don’t remember much about this movie. (KTTV promo screen cap from my personal video collection)

5. Mystic Pizza

I don’t know much about this movie other than it was released in 1988 and Julia Roberts was in it. The only reason I included it on the list was because I found the commercial in a block of programming recorded in 1988.

6. Land Before Time

I know I saw this movie a few times at school. Then everybody would get comfortable and take off their shoes and the whole room would smell like feet. My little cousin was really into this movie. He used to say he wanted a tree star.

7. Mac and Me

I’m pretty sure I’ve never seen this movie or maybe parts of it, but not the whole thing.

8. Bambi (re-release)

I know this is not from 1988, but it was released back into theaters in 1988. I remember my parents telling me how they saw this movie when they were kids. Back when you could do that. Now you can just get a DVD or stream it or something. This movie is ok. Not one of my favorites. I remember the fire scene being intense. I remember collecting the McDonald’s toys.

9. Beetlejuice

It’s crazy to think of all the movies that got turned into cartoon shows in the 80s and 90s. I can’t remember if I’ve seen this whole movie or not.

10. Big

The Wrong Kind of Message — May 10, 2018

The Wrong Kind of Message

My dad is on vacation for a week and it’s driving me crazy! >o< He just pesters for a whole week. So I just hole myself up in my room and write and stuff.

My dad is all worked up and excited about my cousin wanting his old weight bench. After he sent him 4 emails about it. I’m not sure if that was his inability to use the internet or desperation. I thought it was funny when he told my cousin I used it. Yeah as a doll bed. Never actually for what it was intended for. I even wrote a blog about it.

Too bad I don’t have space anymore to make doll crafts. 😦

My cousin called and left a poor quality message on the answering machine. What was he calling on a potato? The message was like all static. Nobody could really make out what he was trying to say. My dad immediately blamed our phone. Heaven forbid my cousin have a potato of a cell phone. Then I had to call them and them call me back.

The real underlying problem is that he thinks my cousin is so cool and everything he does because they are so alike. I remember when my cousin said he likes Primius and my dad was getting into them. When he asked me about them at first the only song I could think of by them was the South Park theme song. 😖

I was trying to get my mom to listen to the song “Wrong”. She was not into “Wrong”. Too bad it’s a great song lyrically. She didn’t like how electronic it sounded.

Writing Writing Everywhere! — May 9, 2018

Writing Writing Everywhere!

I was in my room cleaning and I never realized how “unorganized” my writing is. With notebooks and papers all over. All the potential ideas. Story ideas, blog ideas, magazines for references, and other stuff. Sometimes I have a hard time finding all the different projects. This is just the physical paper hard copies and stuff I’ve written on notebook paper. Not even including all the word processing stuff somewhere in a computer or something.

Somehow with my current project I’ve ended up with some sort of editing behemoth. Which is strange this usually doesn’t happen to me.

Miscellaneous May Blog — May 7, 2018

Miscellaneous May Blog

I found that list I wrote of potential blog topics. It was pretty long and I remembered that a lot of these blogs were put on hold because of math class.

I got a hankering to go biking this week. I haven’t owned a bike in years or  have ridden on in over 20 years. The weather was so nice though.

It seems that Meez has lost their domain and that the website is truly gone for good.

World Laughter Day was yesterday. I first heard about it in a magazine back in October of 1998. I feel old. A throwback from 1998. Because it was hard to get information back then.

I’m finally working on my book again. Honestly I haven’t touched it since nano which was about 7 months ago. Then my dad was reading what I typed over my shoulder. Ack! 😖Like he would read my book.

I’m still trying to figure out a way into tricking my dad into taking the Myers Brigg test. I really wanna know his personality. I still can’t gauge him.

10 More Songs from 1998 — May 4, 2018

10 More Songs from 1998

After my last 1998 entry I thought I post another 1998 songs blog.

1. “You Get What You Give” – New Radicals

Was this like their one hit?

2. “Baby One More Time” – Britney Spears

A guilty pleasure song of mine. I really liked their outfits in the video. Not so much the school girl one, but that one with the sweatpants and the blue shoes.

3.”Pretty Fly For a White Guy” – The Offspring

Like I mentioned before this song and “Celebrity Skin” remind me of becoming a freshman. The white guy’s outfit just screams “1998!”. I remember at school I used to imitate the guy’s bad dancing.

4. Save Ferris – “The World is New”

One of my favorite ska bands at the time along with Reel Big Fish.

5. The Cardigans – “My Favourite Game”

I heard it was banned from MTV.

6. Squirrel Nut Zippers – “The Suits are Picking up the Bill” (could not find official video)

This song is good, but I don’t like it as much as “Hell”.

7. Cake – “Never There”

I didn’t really like this song as much as “The Distance” when I first heard it, but I think I like it more now.

8. Korn – Got The Life

This is one of my favorite Korn songs if not my absolute favorite Korn song.

9. Fatboy Slim – “Gangster Trippin”

I’ll admit I really liked watching the items explode.

10. Fatboy Slim – “The Rockafeller Skank”

Footage of this video was used in the opening of Are-oh-vee in 1998.

What Would I be Doing Right Now? — May 3, 2018

What Would I be Doing Right Now?

I stayed up late writing into the wee hours of the morning.

I forgot to take off the alarm off my phone for 5:30AM. So it went off by accident in the morning. Then I woke up at around 7:30AM. I thought if I had gone to class I’d would be waiting in the hall for the teacher to come.

And I ate the breakfast I would have eaten had I gone to school. I precooked some of the food for my breakfasts during the weekend.

I realized I need an outline for a non fiction piece I’ve been working on. I’m usually not an outliner with my writing. It is such a mess. I wrote it haphazardly, but not really a vomit draft. I just wrote it here and there.

So I watched the Dodger game on facebook. Facebook baseball is weird. Or it is not at all like they described it would be. It said they were going to have their own in-house commentators. The bulldog was there aka Hershiser. He’s on Sportsnet LA. Not that it bothers me I like him. And some other guy I didn’t recognize. It was very frustrating to watch. It kept buffering and slowing down my computer. I only made it to about 4 innings.

Almost There? — May 2, 2018

Almost There?

In the morning I was feeling bad about myself. Having a lot of self destructive thoughts like “Why can’t I be a more caring person?”

They didn’t tell me where to go the day I made my appointment. I ended up at a converted storage bungalow. The people working there asked what I was doing there.

So I had to go back to the office and some guy took me to a relabeled building. Why do they keep relabeling the buildings? That is one of the more frustrating things about this place.

There was a couch to sit at while I waited. I sunk into to it. It was very deep and hard to get out of.

When I told him it was mathematically impossible for me to pass my math class. He thought I was joking. I inadvertently made a funny. Why does this happen to me when I really wanna be serious? >o< He told me to drop the class to save my GPA. (*whispers* my GPA isn't that great.) And to take statistics next semester.

I found out I have to take another communications class! What?! @o@ A debate class of all things. I’m not really good at that. I get way too emotional.

Then the internet went down so I had to leave.

I’m not sure if I want to stick with communications as my major. I don’t think it is very profitable. Or even if I want to pursue a bachelor’s part of me would be content with an associates. But maybe I might need to go for it for “insurance” you know a higher degree to get a higher entry level job. Or try it for a semester or 2 to see how I like it.

I’m still a little upset I couldn’t graduate this semester. It was gonna be great I was gonna pass and throw myself a party or something play some Uncanny Alliance; “I Got my Education”. This song is so good. I first heard it in the early 90s. Strangely even my mom likes it.

I wish I could be like those people in the movies and tv shows where they don’t know what they are good at then they find out and all their problems are solved.

As of 11 something AM this morning I am taking no classes this semester. I made sure I really dropped it. I had to check a few times. I looked for a few jobs online, but I didn’t find any I wanted or were qualified for.

I’m not sure what to do with my time now. Ideally get caught up with my writing.

I deleted all the math apps on my phone.

I feel a little better than I did before.

There Must be Nothing Inside — May 1, 2018

There Must be Nothing Inside

There is this person comes off as such a goody goody. She doesn’t seem to come off as somebody who has “bad feelings”. Is she a robot of happiness or something. Its kinda strange and creepy in a way. I would like to do something big, something important, something important for the world, but then i go back to my selfish thoughts. I’m just sad angry and frustrated. Maybe I’m not as good as I think I am or I want to be? Good as do gooder not in proficiency terms.

My dad is still a horrible driver in his old age not that he was that much better when he was younger. Driving erratically while trying to kill a bug. 😑 I think he wants to get a lot done during his vacation soon. But he probably won’t. Then he was complaining about the music on the radio again. I keep telling him to get an MP3 player or something like it. He wants to make digital files of the songs off his records. He doesn’t have a record player with a USB port (which he thinks he doesn’t need to convert records to digital files)

In class today I told myself I was not going to be goofing off by writing or doing other things. I can’t believe that my old calculator and working backwards actually works better than those newer fancier models.  It was really or people don’t know how to use brackets. On the homework the teacher added some extra credit questions. I thought “like those 3 points are really going to make a difference for me.”

Some guy asked for 65 cents at the bus stop, and I didn’t give it to him. The altruistic part of me would have, but the mean rational greedy part of my mind didn’t. I think I need to stop reading about all these helpful people from small towns. Big city life is impersonal and lonely sometimes, but also very private if you want it to be.

Tried to repair my boots with a hot glue gun. Lets how that turns out. I really thought it would stop raining by now here. Its already May.

I wonder if I could pass off “Black Celebration” to my dad off as a metal album if he never hears it? Anyway he told me he hates electronic music.
